| Abstract: | English teaching in vocational colleges has been trapped in the vicious circle of English ＂huilu＂——retraining,or relearning English,or English brush-up.English teaching in vocational colleges reached the point of walking out of ＂condensed＂ version of four-year college English teaching.Vocational English teachers are faced with new challenges of producing talents armed with ＂foreign language proficiency plus skill＂.Adjustments are suggested concerning syllbus,field practice and assessment of vocational English teaching.Professional development of vocational English teachers is another key issue.This paper analyzes the problems of English teaching in vocational colleges from the teacher＇s perspective and solutions are suggested to promote vocational English teaching reform. |
