| 摘 要： | 委婉语是人类语言世界、生活世界中普遍存在的一种语言现象，它是协调人际关系的一种有效手段。本文从词汇手段，修辞手段和语法手段三个方面讨论了委婉语的实现手段并从避免忌讳、避免粗俗和表示礼貌和尊敬的三个方面探讨了委婉语的语用功能。

| Abstract: | Euphemism is a universal phenomenon exhiting in human society and life, used as an important means to harmonize interpersonal relations. In this essay we talked about three ways of creating euphemisms; that is lexical techniques; figurative techniques and grammatical techniques. Then analyzes the pragmatic functions of English Euphemism from three aspects, namely function of taboo, avoidance of vulgarity and politeness. |
