| Abstract: | The present article attempts to find out the differences and similarities between the Chinese and English riddles. There are not only similarities in origins, connotations, rhetorical devices but also differences in the mode of forming, and the cultural characteristics. Based on these analyses, the article discusses the methods of translating the Chinese riddles into English. |
