| 摘 要： | 英汉化关于“谦虚”的语用策略有很大差异。以英语为母语的受试基本上不能接受汉语“自贬”和“推让”的谦虚策略,汉语受试会根据相对权势和社交距离的变化实施不同的谦虚语用策略;英语受试并不能根据场合实施这种中国式的谦虚语用策略,以汉语为母语的受试也没有完全接受传统中国式的谦虚策略。

| Abstract: | By employing an empirical method, this paper attempts to make a contrastive analysis of the differences in pragmatic strategies of "Modesty" between English and Chinese cultures, concluding that the pragmatic strategies of "Modesty" in the English culture shares little similarities to that of the Chinese culture, and that, with differentiation of social power and social distance, people may adopt different "Modesty" strategies. In the meanwhile, pragmatic strategies may also change with time within the Chinese culture. |
