| 摘 要： | 本通过对南北战争以前的美国化中的南方神话的分析，认为南方的自然地理条件是导致南方化与美国其它地方化区别的主要因素，使南方化失去了移民初期的清教主义精神，最终使南方在南北战争中遭到了失败。
