| 摘 要： | 数字是任何语言中都表示数量的词，但数字的作用却不只是限于表示数量。文章对英汉数字词的象征意义和数字词背后的文化内涵进行了探讨和对比分析，认为翻译者要准确传达数字词的含义，必须对中英两种语言与文化有较全面的了解。

| Abstract: | Numeral words express number in any languages, but they do not used to express that only. This paper aims to make a contrast of the symbolic meanings and cultural connotation of English and Chinese numeral words. So it is thought that we should have an over-all knowledge of both languages and their culture in order to have a better understanding and exactly convey the meaning of numeral words. |
