| Abstract: | Up to the present time most of the scholars in the literary circle do not consider any more the dispute between the initiators of the New Culture and the scholars of the School of Xueheng: as the struggle of literary thoughts between renovation and being reactionary, and progress and being conservative. However, where did their divergence lie then? And what were the reasons of their disputes? The author of this paper has given a profound discussion, a thorough exposition and a penetrating analysis of their disputes. And in this paper are also given an objective and just remarks of rights and wrongs and merits and mistakes of their disputes. |
