| Abstract: | The Textbook of Scientific and Technological Translation.from English to Chinese, a book designed for students in higher grades at universities of science and engineering, has been widely used and duly welcomed since its publication by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press in 1990.To help the users better comprehend the underlying theories and skills, the writers have carefully prepared a profusion of typical examples (mainly sentences). The authors of this article notice that some original sentences cited as examples are poorly or even wrongly understood and rendered, which, if not timely pointed out and corrected, are likely to misguide or confuse the readers. This paper is hereby written to discuss some of the translations. |
