Abstract: | Although increasing attention is being paid to the impact of the mass media on society in general, media studies has still to find its place as a mainstream subject in most school systems. Many teachers are drawn towards it as an area of obvious importance in students’ lives, while at the same time being hampered by doubts and obstacles, some of their own making, some not. This article explores the thoughts of a group of Northern Ireland teachers on the subject and suggests possible ways forward. |
