| 摘 要： | 在短篇故事《告诉我杀谁》中,奈保尔以第一人称的口吻讲述了一个前殖民地人的生存状态,以及他们在这种环境下的身份求证过程。本文运用当代后殖民文化理论,以文化身份的视角,通过分析主人公追寻自我文化身份到迷失自我的过程,探讨了这些前殖民地人面对西方文化的侵略和渗透,在文化归属问题上的困惑和迷失,揭示出放弃本土文化而一味追求西方文化不仅不能给自己带来一个新的身份,反而会导致人格的分裂和自我身份的迷失。

| Abstract: | in the short novel Tell Me Who to Kill Naipaul uses the first-person point of view to describe ex-colonial people’s living condition,and their pursuing process of cultural identity under this condition.By analyzing the protagonist’s experience from self-pursuit to self-loss,from the prospect of cultural identity in the theory of post-colonialism,this paper shows these ex-colonial people’s confusion and loss in the issue of cultural identity when facing the invasion and infiltration of western culture.This paper proves that abandoning the traditional culture and pursuing the western culture blindly,won’t lead toa new identity but the loss of identity and splitting personality. |
