| 摘 要： | 袁世凯是清末民初中国历史舞台上的风云人物，纵横驰骋于中国近代政治、军事、教育、经济、文化、外交等诸多领域。他在任直隶总督期间，所提出的师范教育思想及进行的实践活动对直隶省近代师范教育的变革具有重要影响。拟就袁世凯对直隶师范教育所作出的贡献及其局限性进行探讨。
