| Abstract: | Mr. Lu Zongda's lectures on archaic Chinese are inspiring and illuminating, with special emphasis on the methods and approaches of studying it. He is against taking the words too literally and interpreting them without real understanding. He stresses the regional and time characteristics of archaic Chinese, and the personal linguistic habits of the writers. Lu' s lectures clearly show his style of inheritance from the Zhang - Huang School. |
