| 摘 要： | 该文探讨了英语新闻标题的语法和修辞特点。标题的语法特点主要是省略法,作者通常在标题中使用形容词短语、现在分词短语、过去分词短语、动词不定式短语和介词短语等;标题的修辞特点表现为作者经常在标题中使用引语、比喻、双关语、韵音词等修辞手法。该文中列举了中外报刊、杂志上的典型例子,附上中文译文,逐一说明,以加深读者对英语新闻标题语法和修辞特点的了解。

| Abstract: | This thesis makes a study of the grammatical and rhetorical features of the English news headlines.The grammatical characteristics include:the use of the present and past participle phrases,the indefinite phrases,the adjective phrases and the prepositional phrases.The rhetorical features of the headlines are direct quotations,simile and metaphor,puns,alliteration and rhyme.The vivid examples selected from the newspapers and magazines at home and abroad with their Chinese translations,will facilitate readers to have a better command of the headlines'grammatical and rhetorical features. |
