| 摘 要： | 严子陵,名严光,字子陵,浙江会稽余姚(今宁波余姚市)人,是吴越文化史上的一位重要人物。严子陵少年时就很有才气,与刘秀是同学好友。其后他积极帮助刘秀起兵。公元8年,王莽称帝,法令苛细,徭役繁重,吏治腐败,民怨沸腾。公元25年,刘秀终于击败王莽,在洛阳建立起东汉王朝,当上了皇帝,这就是历史上有名的汉光武帝。而这时严子陵却避居僻乡。

| Abstract: | Yan Ziling, with a courtesy name Yan Guang, was born in to day＇s Yuyao （a county level city in Ningbo） and was an important figure in the Wu and Yue culture of China. History has no exact record on his birth and death. Yan Ziling showed his unusual talent at a very young age. He and Liu Xiu, one of the many descendants of the Han imperial family, were classmates and close friends. The usurpation of the Han throne by Wang Mang in 8 AD and the ensuing civil war during the disintegration of Wang＇s shortlived Xin Dynasty led to wanton corruption and heavy tax, which in turn lead to political turmoil across the whole country. Liu Xiu emerged as one of several descendants of the fallen imperial family claiming the imperial throne and led an uprising. H After he finally defeated his rivals and reunified the whole of China, He proclaimed himself Emperor Guangwu in 25 AD. Liu Xiu was the founding emperor of the Eastern Hart Dynasty （25 220AD） When Liu was fighting for the throne, Yan Ziling chose to live a peaceful life as a hermit.
