| Abstract: | This thesis discourses upon the restriction of verbs in their tense, aspect and type when present participle phrases are used as postpositional attributive in English and compares semantic distinctions between the present participle phrases and attributive clauses. The thesis also discusses several questions, to which should be paid attention when present participle phrases are converted into attributive clauses and discusses the position of present participle phrases in sentences. |
