| Abstract: | Virginia Woolf is the forerunner of feminist literary criticism.Her feminism sets the starting point for the theory of modern western feminist literary criticism.The short story New Dress employs a lot of images to present the theme of concerning the current situation of women writing and striving for space for women writing.This article interpret the implications of various images in the short story to illustrate the opposition between men and women,oppression of men to women and the outlet for women artists presented in the short story. |
