| 摘 要： | 《华英初阶》与《华英进阶》原为英国人为其殖民地编写的英语入门课本，商务印书馆对其内容进行删减，运课翻译并附中文注释，以中英两种文字编排出版，成为我国自编最早的英语教科书。二书在目标上强调宗教灌输，教学上侧重书面读写能力，内容组织上遵循循序之原则，形式上图文并茂、并首次采用中西文编排。
