| Abstract: | Substitution should be appropriately used in translation from Chinese into English to make the version clear and concise. This article discusses the usage of nominal, verbal and clause substitution by contrasting and translating some instances for the study on English - and - Chinese contrast, and expounds that substitution is a main means of dealing with the differences between Chinese and English to translate Chinese into English correctly. |
