| Abstract: | The Great Gatsby,the masterpiece of the American author Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald,is published in 1925,just after the World WarⅠ.It mainly narrates the tragic love story between Daisy and Gatsby,reflecting many social problems.This essay emphasizes on the tragic love,and introduces their tragedies respectively,especially the tragedy of Daisy,reconstructing the image of the leading lady as a victim too.Furthermore,we turn to analyze the causes of the tragic love according to the author’s own experience and the background of that era. |
