| Abstract: | By studying different views of the scholars in Russia, China, and Western countries on classical literary works, the author holds that the importance should be attached not only to "re_reading classics, but also to re_confirming and re_discovering classics, which involves the issue of "re_writing the history of literature". Accordingly the author has raised some issues concerning the understanding of re_writing the history of Russian literature of the 20th century, and maintained that it is necessary to re_evaluate the advancement of Russian literature of the 20th century as well as the works of writers of classics. |
