| Abstract: | ＂Pipa Ji＂ has had a profound influence on Ming-Qing drama in terms of theory, writing, and stage performance, thus gained the reputation of ＂ancestor of drama＂. By analyzing the reception of the structural paradigm of ＂Pipa Ji＂ by Ming and Qing dynasties in their legends from two perspectives, namely system of role categorization and musical structure, the historic role of ＂Pipa Ji＂ in Chinese drama history can be observed. |
