| Abstract: | The construction of the US environmental management system is closely linked to the three environmental protection campaigns in its history.Firstly,the campaigns have made its environmental management institution transfer from a single one to a system which contains EPA,its 10 sub-offices and the local environmental management institutions.Secondly,they have helped it environmental law transfer from its initially one-sided one dealing with the protection of resources and wildness to a comprehensive system covering resource protection,pollution prevention and pollution treatment.Thirdly,they have significantly contributed to the formation of the public consciousness of environmental protection,and since then environmental protection has been integrated with the public living style along with the ruling philosophy of politicians,which is the soul of US environmental management system. |
