| 摘 要： | 西方人为开埠宁波曾作了几个世纪的努力，但由于上海的崛起和农民起义及海盗活动猖獗，西方变宁波为重要港口的理想未能如愿。此后宁波商人以上海为舞台，借助西方打破中国闭关自守、实行自由贸易之机，开拓国内外商贸、金融活动，并形成重要的商帮——宁波帮。
