| 摘 要： | 二元对立现象广泛存在与文学作品中，二元对立已成为文学批评领域重要的研究方法。在《无名的裘德》中，哈代运用几对二元对立增强了小说的艺术效果。本文从结构主义语言学的相关理论出发，通过对小说中二元对立模式进行分析揭示二元对立是怎样成功地刻画人物、揭示主题和渲染小说的悲剧色彩。

| Abstract: | Binary oppositions exist substantially in literary works and binarism has become a very important means in literary criticism. In Jude the Obscure, Hardy employs several pairs of binary oppositions to enhance its artistic values. This thesis starts from the principle of structural linguistics, and by analyzing the various pairs of opposing dements, disclo- ses how the employment of binary oppositions successfully depicts the characters, sharpens the conflicts, uncovers the theme and intensifies the tragedy. |
