摘    要:标识语是城市的语言名片,但公共标识语翻译现状不容乐观。文章以扬州市公共标识语翻译语料为研究对象,采用文献研究与实地调查相结合的研究方法,从拼写错误、中式翻译、译文不一致、拼音使用不当和语用失误等五方面揭示标识语翻译中存在的主要问题,探讨有效促进旅游语言环境建设的五大对策:统一管理机构,统一管理标准;筹建双语或多语标识语的语料库;洋为中用,谨慎为之;成立标识语纠错机构;借鉴国内成功经验。

Abstract:Based on the case analysis of public signs in Yangzhou City, this article dxscusses tiae exlsung xs- sues in English translation of public signs from five aspects : spelling mistakes, chinglish, inconsistency, im- proper use of Pinyin and pragmatic failure. Then the author tentatively puts forward the following five effective ways to improve the tourist environment: unifying management with standardization, setting up a corpus of bilingual or muhilingual public signs, drawing on existing public signs of abroad with caution, setting up local clinic agencies and learning from domestic successful experience.
