| 摘 要： | 大学比较的现实意义为:制订发展战略和实施绩效评估。大学比较的理论基础包括:资源依赖理论和新制度理论。选择同型大学的主要方法有:聚类法、混合法、分数线法和评断法。多伦多大学选择同型大学的方法是混合法;数据来源有两个,即加拿大数据交换联盟、美国大学联合会;过程和结果分为四个部分,即货币折算、价格系数、增加变量、选择计算。多伦多大学选择同型大学的启示是:大学间比较的起点是专业;同型大学的指标设计应注意教学和人才培养的因素;选择同型大学不仅应考虑各地的价格和成本差异,还要注意到政府支付能力的差别。

| Abstract: | The present significance of university comparison is twofold: formulation of development strategy and implementation of accountability assessment. The comparison of universities should include such theoretical basics: theory of resource reliance and theory of new systems. In the peer selection process, such methods as cluster analysis, mixture method, floor mark analysis and evaluation method are often used. University of Toronto adopted the mixture method and the reference data came from Canadian University Data Exchange Union and American University Association. The process of university selection consists of four steps: conversion of currency, coefficient of price, variable of increase and calculation for selection. University of Toronto's practice in selecting its peer universities highlights: the comparison of u-niversities should start from specialties, with due considerations of those factors concerning teaching and cultivation of talent and of the difference of government's capacity for payment. |
