| 摘 要： | 晚清的政治使全体国民面临着国际与民族千年未有的巨变和千年未遇的空前危机，晚清政治是典型的“危机政治”，而导致“危机”的根源则是特殊的八股科举及其教育的滞后：造就麻木的灵魂包括愚昧的军官和愚蠢的政治家，因而，科举成为阻滞中国发展的关键。从《纽约时报》的攻击，我们更深刻地感受到：废除科举成为晚清当务之急。

| Abstract: | The politics of the late Qing Dynasty caused all the Chinese citizens to confront with the unprecedented upheavals and crises in China and the world over.The politics in the late Qing Dynasty was the typical "politics of crisis" whose very cause was the particular imperial examination of stereotyped writing and the backwardness of education,which had resulted in the insensitive souls inclusive of stupid officers and stupid politicians.Thus the imperial examination had become the chief barrier to the development of China.From the severe criticisms in the then New York Times,it is keenly felt that the abolition of the imperial examination became an urgent matter in the late Qing Dynasty. |
