Abstract:The tremendous impact of comics to young people at the beginning and the middle of the twentieth century drew the attention of educators, thus the debate concerning the use of comics at school began very early. Some studies revealed that Greek pupils think of History as an extremely boring lesson, full of names and dates. Therefore, there is a need for an alternative approach that can render the lesson interesting and pleasant. This paper presents three didactic suggestions regarding the use of comics in teaching History. The first suggestion presents a single unit, the second is a two-hour revision of a textbook's entire unit and the last suggestion is a four-month project on what Asterix can teach us about History.
