| Abstract: | English proverbs have refined language and sound quite rhythmical. Rich in philosophy,they are like the treasures in English language literature. This article summarizes the rhetorical figures used in English proverbs and discusses their translation strategy so as to help us learn to use and appreciate English proverbs well, and enhance our understanding and ability of expression in English. |
