| 摘 要： | 委婉语是人类社会中普遍存在的一种语言现象,是人们在交际过程中为谋求理想的交际效果而创造的一种有效的语言形式。它涉及社会生活的方方面面,在人们的社会交际中扮演着重要的功能角色。对其正确理解和恰当的使用有助于语言教学和跨文化交际能力的培养。本文从社会语言学的视角对英语委婉语进行了探讨,并主要论述了其主要类型和社会语用功能。

| Abstract: | As a general phenomenon in every culture,euphemism is pervasive in human being's social life.It is an important linguistic form created to seek ideal and effective communication among people.And to have a good command of English euphemisms is conducive to English teaching and learning and cross-cultural communication.This article discusses the features,main types and socio-pragmatic functions of English euphemisms from a socio-linguistic perspective. |
