| 摘 要： | 扩招十年来，山西省高等教育内部结构及其外部关系发生了一系列变化。基于与全国比较的视角：山西省为全国高等教育规模扩张做出了重要贡献；规模扩张幅度除1999年外，在整体上均与全国差距不大；山西省在民公办高校比例和高职院校学生数比重上均略低于全国。基于与政治、经济关系的视角：政策是山西省高等教育规模扩张的直接动因；高等教育规模对经济变化的灵敏度不足。基于内部结构的视角：从类型上看，出现了新的办学形式或高等学校类型——独立学院，民办高校的比例获得较大的增加，同时也新增了大量的高职院校。从层次上看，专科层次的在校生比例逐渐扩大，由扩招前的小于变为扩招后的大于本科层次的在校生数。分析研究这些变化和特点，不仅有助于更准确地了解山西省高等教育的现状，而且有助于从现状出发，为山西省高等教育的进一步发展提出一些启示。
