| 摘 要： | 一百多年来很多学者评论家都认为《简.爱》是＂第一部女权主义小说＂,我们从夏洛蒂.勃朗特的女权主义和平等主义主张认识到简爱的反抗、热情、独立和追求性别平等。然而甚少有人鉴于勃朗特的基本主张——人性来分析叛乱的简和拜伦式的罗切斯特,论文则主要剖析简和罗切斯特的心理成长,同时阐明勃朗特的女权主义人性观。

| Abstract: | For over one hundred years,many critics have regarded Jane Eyre as ＂the first feminist novel＂ ,and have thus acknowledged Jane＇s rebellion,passion,independence and assertion of gender equality from the viewpoint of Charlotte＇s feminist egalitarianism. However,so far no one seems to have analyzed the insurgent Jane and ＂the Byronic Rochester＂ in light of Charlotte＇s underlying view of humanity. This paper aims to examine the psychological development of the male and female protagonists in Jane Eyre,and to shed light on Charlotte＇s underlying view of humanity,which coincides with John Stuart Mill＇s concept of androgynous mind as the ideal state. |
