| 摘 要： | 本研究主要基于语料探讨＂者＂的语篇衔接作用。通过对收集到的＂者＂及其译文语料的对比分析表明：＂者＂是一个概括词而非名词性替代词,在谋篇机制中起概括的衔接作用。Halliday＆Hasan在《英语的衔接》（2001）一书中提出的关于语篇衔接分析模式的理论框架为本文研究的依据。

| Abstract: | The paper aims to probe into the cohesive role of zhe in Chinese mainly by making a contrastive study of zhe and its English version.It is found out that zhe actually plays a cohesive role not as a nominal substitute but as a general noun.The research is conducted within the framework of discourse analysis model proposed by Halliday Hasan in Cohesion in English（2001）. |
