| 摘 要： | 委婉语是人类社会中普遍存在的一种语言现象，是用语言来调剂人际关系的一个重要手段。礼貌原则是语用学的一个重要内容，对英语委婉语的研究有很重要的指导意义。礼貌原则所含的基本准则在委婉语中均有体现，其中礼貌的得体性是委婉语使用中不可忽视的一个因素。
