| Abstract: | The environment shapes character,and character determines destiny.The hero Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights was subjected to torture and abuse both physically and mentally in his growing environment of the distorted British capitalist society in 18th century,which led to the formation of his bigoted character,and his bigoted character sowed the seeds of his tragic fate. |
