| Abstract: | This article comments on the relationship among the branches of thought of Pu in Huizhou, Suzhou and Yangzhou, which represent respectively the three stages of the development of'Pu'theory (which studies the ancient Chinese characters and its pronunciation and meaning) in Qing Dynasty.Through the comparison of features of different branches of thought,it elaborates on and evaluates their academic achievements and contributions. In addition, it also confirms the important linking role that the branch of thought in Huizhou has played in the development of'Pu' theory. |
