商业化:美国大学发展的新特点

摘    要:自20世纪中期以来,美国大学发展出现了学术性减弱、商业性增强的明显特点。本从五个方面分析了美国大学商业化的表现;从美国历史发展的特定角度,审视了导致这一现象形成的两方面的原因;总结了美国理论界对这一现象存在正反两方面的观点。最后,本阐述了自己的观点:即使美国大学商业化是其在全球经济竞争加剧的背景下一种难以避免的选择,但大学还是应该更多地关注商业规范与学术规范的融合。

Abstract:A obvious characteristic has been appeared in the developing p ro cess of American universities which strengthen the commercial norms while weaken their academic research since the middle of 20 century. This article presents the five ways of this trend; analyzes the two factors leading to commercializati on of American universities in the view of special history of America; summarize s the positive and negative attitudes toward the phenomena in American academia. Finally the article expresses its own views: even though the commercializing of American universities is an inescapable choice in the background of global econ o mic competition, universities should concern more about the harmony between acad emic norm and commercial norm.
