| 摘 要： | How to define Standard Language is one of the most fundamental issues in language variation research.This article,unlike those focusing more on the linguistic features,explores and checks the criteria to define Standard English from a sociolinguistic view and in a uniquely bilingual environment.The results are only partly in line with many well-known assumptions about the standard language and some new criteria are put forward.
