| 摘 要： | 阐述中国古代图书编目的深刻文化内涵,认为它既为藏书的管理、使用提供了-种必要的秩序,也为可能的新书籍的编撰提供了价值导向.指出20世纪初叶以来的图书编目的变革,实际上是中国在西学东渐背景下的文化变革的-部分;图书编目既然从来就有着相应的文化内涵,那么图书编目的再度变革便理应伴随相当深度的文化思考.

| Abstract: | This paper intends to deliberate the cultural significance in the history of ancient Chinese books cataloguing, which not only provides a necessary order for the management and use of the existing books but also a value orientation for the cataloguing of the future ones. The value orientation does not emphasize the remaking and change of the natural and social environment but the cultivation of virtue. The change of the library cataloguing since the beginning of the 20th century is, in fact, a part of cultural change under the circumstances of the introduction of Western civilization. Therefore, the next change of library cataloguing must have a profound corresponding cultural concern. |
