| Abstract: | The sixteenth century experienced a rapid expansion of the English nation state,as well as the transmission of republicanism.By introducing a concept of monarchical republic,Sir Thomas Smith broadened the application radius in the Tudor monarchy of republican principles,and thus achieve a combination of republican and monarchical principles,indicating a direction towards which republicanism established and entrenched itself in a monarchical nation state. |
