| 摘 要： | 连云港地区狭小,经济文化教育相对落后,留学生在数量上不多,在结构上也不尽合理。近代连云港地区留学生较多的地区和学校主要集中在所属的灌云县板浦镇和海州江苏省立第八师范学校,其代表性人物为中共早期党员吴苓生(又名吴丽石)和著名科学家汪德耀、汪德昭、汪德熙三兄弟等。近代连云港地区留学生的史实表明,该地区社会事业的发展与留学生的创业、创造是互动生成、互相影响的过程。近代连云港地区的留学生与连云港地区的港口开辟、铁路展拓、城市规划、文化、教育、卫生有着密切的联系,并且在其中发挥了重要的作用。
