| Abstract: | There is a great difference between English word orders and Chinese ones because of the difference between the cultural customs and the thinking modes of the English native speakers and the Chinese native speakers. A knowledge of the word order difference between the two languages will certainly contribute to the improvement of translation quality. This paper probes the word order contrasts between the two languages and their translation techniques at the levels of customary phrasal expressions, of simpler sentence element sequences, and of multi - event sentence sequences. |
