| Abstract: | In this study,the intended functions of English versions of online publicity materials of exhibitions together with their purposes and translation brief are investigated under the framework of Skopostheorie.Based on a critical analysis of translation problems arising in online publicity materials of exhibitions held in Ningbo,some effective translation methods are provided.This study bears an implication that when translating publicity materials,the translator can reformulate,delete,add,or even rewrite the original text in terms of translation purpose and translation brief so as to reach the aim of publicity by realizing the informative and operative functions of the translated texts. |
