| Abstract: | Evaluation of research institutions becomes a central point for an institutions world wide. Scientific community in China and abroad are very concerned of this issue. In this paper, based on the 2003 report of Deutsche Forschungs-gemeinschaft (German Research Foundation-DFG) , we introduce the evaluation and ranking method of DFG, the founding agencies and policy of research support of Germany. The present situation of the Chinese university evaluation is presented and discussed. We may learn from the DFG and German evaluation system to improve the scientific research in Chinese universities. |
