The Comparative Study of Chinese and English Taboo |

| Abstract: | This paper aims to illustrate similarities and differences of taboo words by using methods of contrast and comparison, and analyses these similarities and differences by giving concrete examples used in everyday life, which are followed by explanations, and this is the main point of this paper. At the same time, the paper demonstrated reasons for the appearance of taboo as well as its three important so-cial functions. |
