| 摘 要： | 情态表达作为英语语言表达中一种非常重要的语义载体,能在英语的情态系统中衍生出丰富的隐喻表达方式,以此来反映语篇作者及其所代表集团利益的意识形态。英语时政新闻语篇是以英语为媒介的大众传媒,大都以政府或官方的政策发布或态度表达进行报道,具有较强的政治色彩。文章以VOA时政新闻语篇为例,透过其中的情态隐喻,分析时政新闻中意识形态的潜在表达。

| Abstract: | Modality is an important semantic carrier in English expression; it can derive into various types of metaphor in modality system, which can reflect the reporter and his group＇s ideology. English political news is an expression of mass media based on English language, most of which is on the obvious political purpose of the official attitude and governmental policy. Taking VOA political news as an example, this paper tries to analyze the modality metaphor in political news discourse. |
