| 摘 要： | 低调陈述是《大学英语》精读课文中经常出现的一种修辞手段,也是日常生活中一种常见的语言现象。本文论述了英语低调陈述这一语言现象的表达特征,并从语用学中会话含义理论的角度分析这一语言现象的语用功能,并探索英语低调陈述翻译的具体方法。

| Abstract: | Understatement is a rhetorical device frequently seen in the texts of Intensive Reading of College English and a common language phenomenon in our daily life.This paper attempts to analyze the typical expression of English understatement and its pragmatic functions from the angle of the theory of Conversational Implicate.On the basis of the analysis,methods in the translation of English understatement are put forward. |
