| Abstract: | On the basis of the helix theory proposed by the authors,the relationship between sructure and rotatory direction is analyzed for the tartaric acid and glyceraldehyde.The results show that there is a close correlation between structure and optical activity in both compounds even if they can form many hydrogen bonds. |
