| 摘 要： | Many of us look down on saliva as something filthy. However, it is a wonder of Nature. It plays a big part in helping with proper digestion.Saliva helps in the process of digestion. It moistens food so that it will be easily chewed and swallowed. Also, saliva contains ptyalin. This helps break down starchy food into pieces of simpler sugars. Therefore, saliva in the mouth is the First stage of the digestion process. |
