| 摘 要： | 高等教育自学考试大大推动了终身教育的发展。但是在整个教育体系中，由于自考制度的缺陷、传统偏见、自考生的素质等多方面的影响，自考生进入了被边缘化的处境，如果自学考试边缘化的问题解决不好，必将大大制约处在大发展阶段的终身教育事业的发展，也会在一定程度上限制高等教育的宏观发展。因此，采取各种方法，通过各种途径提高自考生的综合素质，推动其向主流方向发展的教育应该引起足够的重视。
